Founding Data Engineer

Who We Are

Mango & Peaches is reimagining how consumers engage with health and wellness. Our
mission is to make personalized healthcare easy and accessible to the everyday
person. We’re not building another EHR, we’re building the connective layer between
the consumer subscription world and the clinical world. Allowing our customers to
manage their subscriptions, billing, and products, while our providers focus on delivering
clinical care.

What We Are Doing

We’re building a data-driven consumer health platform that integrates seamlessly with
our existing EHR system. We’re seeking a Founding Data Engineer to establish the
data foundation that powers our membership, clinical, and business insights. You will
design and build HIPAA-aligned data infrastructure; covering pipelines, storage, and
integrations to connect information across systems; unlocking real-time visibility into
how our platform performs. Working directly with our founding team and early partners,
this role will turn raw data into actionable intelligence, balancing speed, scalability, and
compliance from day one.

What You Will Do

  • Design and build the company’s core data pipelines and architecture (ETL/ELT).
  • Partner with Engineering to define data models and storage strategies.
  • Create systems to collect and normalize data from multiple sources (clinical systems, marketing platforms, CRM, etc.).
  • Implement analytics infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, etc.) to enable reporting and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define key metrics, dashboards, and insights that drive decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance and security in data handling (HIPAA, SOC2).
  • Lay the groundwork for machine learning and personalization down the line

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise with modern data stack tools (SQL, Python, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, pipelines, APIs, and integration design.
  • Experience working with healthcare or HIPAA-compliant data (preferred, not required).
  • You’re comfortable being scrappy and strategic—writing code one day and designing the data roadmap the next.
  • You thrive in ambiguity, love solving problems, and care deeply about building something meaningful from the ground up.

You may have

  • Experience working with modern data stacks (Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, etc.)
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for building and optimizing pipelines
  • Exposure to healthcare data formats (FHIR, HL7) or EHR integrations
  • Familiarity with HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance requirements
  • Experience building data systems from 0→1 at a startup or fast-moving environment
  • An interest in analytics engineering or enabling others with clean, reliable data
